“This year ten Philippine-based companies – dealing in furniture, furnishing, lighting, art works and desk accessories -participating under the umbrella of Centre for International Trade Expositions and Missions as the response from retailers and the professionals from the hotel industry is enormous,” she said.
She pointed out that furniture and furnishing is one of the sectors with the highest potential in increasing the country’s export performance. “In 2012, the country’s woodcraft and furniture sector exports reached $2.34 billion, as reported by Department o Trade and Industry (DTI),” she said.
She further said that the Hotel Show in Dubai offers a full 360-degree spectrum of hospitality products by featuring the key sectors of the hospitality industry, such as interiors, hotel, restaurants and catering, outdoor and resort experience, technology and facility management, and operating equipment and supplies.
Catly said that the next year more Philippines companies dealing in interiors and designs will be on the board to showcase their products in the hotel show as the ongoing exhibition have also paving the way for providing more inside information on the upcoming Manila Fame exhibition which is going to be held as its 57th edition between Oct 17-20 in Manila, Philippines.
A number of Philippines companies have been participating in different exhibitions being held in Dubai and other major destinations in the Middle East. “Some of companies present in the current hotel show have been exhibited in the past but it is the first time they are under the official banner and this have proved major exposure and we will bring more companies next year,” she added.
