DUBAI: Raising awareness on children with special needs, on the occasion of Universal Children’s Day, Rose Rayhaan by Rotana hotel hosted a day-long event with funfilled activities for children with special needs.
As part of its CSR initiative to contribute positively to society, the event “Around the World in One Day” was organised as staff members from different departments of the RJAMIL-SpecialNeeds-Kids-2ose Rayhaan by Rotana hotel – a flagship property of Rotana’s alcohol-free Rayhaan Hotels and Resorts brand and previously certified the world’s tallest hotel by Guinness World Records – to perform different activities.
The staff as part of the celebrations sang and performed the national dance prepared for the attending children. About 60 students of Senses Residential and Day Care Centre for Special Needs, Al Noor Training Centre for Children with Special Needs and Dubai Centre for Special Needs were invited to be part of the event.
As the theme of the trip was around the world, Karim Nahas, the General Manager of Rose Rayhaan by Rotana, played the role of captain of the imaginary aircraft and welcome the guests.
The first destination was North Africa, in specific Egypt, followed by mysterious Asia where the young passengers had a chance to visit Pakistan, Nepal, Myanmar and Philippines. After that the colleagues from Russia and Uzbekistan toured the children around Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Finally, after visiting the United States of America with a short stopover in Mexico, the children landed safely in the most fascinating city in the world, Dubai.
“Universal Children’s Day is commemorated annually worldwide in November 20 to promote international togetherness and awareness among children across the world. Taking into account the fact that special needs children are not able to travel easily due to their physical, mental and emotional instability, by being a multinational team with colleagues from almost 30 countries, we have decided to take the children for a happy trip across the globe by showing them different countries, their traditions and culture”, said Nahas.
Lina Owies, the Executive Manager of the Senses Residential and Day Care Centre for Special Needs, said “We are so honoured to be on board this year with our students and travel again with Rose Rayhaan by Rotana around the World, it has been indeed one of the amazing initiatives that we have been part of. We would like to thank the hotel team for such a memorable trip, for the smiles you have put on their faces. I am sure they won’t forget this trip for a very long time.”
After the trip, many supervised activities awaited the children: exciting games, clowns and mascots, face painting and finally the chefs of Rose Rayhaan served special guests as they delightfully enjoyed their lunch.
