The second ‘UAE National Day-Marine Edition’ celebration in Dubai left audiences spellbound and moved them on their feet. As expected, the Golden Jubilee celebration of the UAE turned out to be a visual treat for all those who witnessed the magical moment on water.
A fleet of 30 yachts, seven boats and six jet skis decorated with colourful flags and balloons, paraded just before the flag hoisting ceremony, leaving cameramen and selfie-Gen to freeze the moment forever. Later for the flag hoisting ceremony, all the yachts made a circle and remained standstill for a while to mark the respect of the occasion, while dignitaries, invited guests and residents of Marina witnessed a number of water sports activities as well.
Nearly 500 UAE nationals, residents and visitors participated in the grand event. Meanwhile, to pay the special tribute to UAE’s 50th anniversary, 50 flags were hoisted at the iconic Dubai Marina, while a 50-metre long flag was also hoisted from a yacht docked close to Dubai’s Bluewater’s Island, that symbolised UAE’s glorious journey.
A fly boarder held the other end of the flag as it waved majestically in the backdrop of the world’s largest and tallest observation wheel – Ain Dubai. National anthem played in the background infused a feeling of patriotism which was palpable in the air of Dubai Marina.

Most popular brands of the UAE, Hotpack and Al Ain Farms joined the event as sponsors and the momentous occasion was graced by Sheikh Abdullah Bin Majid Bin Saeed Al Nuaimi, Ruling Family Member, Director of General Citizens Affairs Office; Sheikh Obaid Bin Suhail Al Maktoum; Dr. Aman Puri, Consul General of India in Dubai; PB Abdul Jabbar, Managing Director, Hotpack Global; Milana, Marketing Head, Al Ain Farms; Albin Thomas, GM Hadi Exchange; Shameer M Ali, Managing Director of D3 Marine; and VK Shamsudeen, Chairman IPA;
After hoisting ceremony, the guests were taken on a 2-hour ride on surrounding sea water, where they got the glimpse of many iconic buildings of Dubai that included The Atlantis hotel. During the ride, traditional Ayyala and Yowlah dancers enthralled the visitors. The event also turned out to be memorable for radio contest winners, who were part of the whole cultural extravaganza.
Dr. Aman Puri said, “My heartiest greetings to all my Emirati brothers and sisters and all the UAE residents. The UAE is a symbol of peaceful coexistence and prosperity for the whole world. Today, we are also celebrating the best of the country’s values that the world can learn from.”
Shameer Mohammed Ali of D3 Yacht looked extremely glad to see the event go as per planned. He said “Being a part of Golden Jubilee celebration is a matter of great pride for all of us. We wanted the second edition to be bigger than the first one and we succeeded in doing so. Last year, a 49-metre flag was hoisted but this year we hoisted 50-metre flag and more than 500 special guests attended the event.” The event was organized by Ad&M-Tecom Dubai.
The Emirates NBD marks this golden milestone with a fitting tribute to the stellar achievements and progress of the nation over the last five decades: the UAE’s own constellation, launched in collaboration with Dubai Astronomy Group.
With a distinctive shape of the UAE map, The Emirates Constellation is formed by seven stars, representing the seven emirates of the UAE. The constellation was revealed to UAE citizens and residents at Expo 2020 Dubai’s Opportunity Forum on the eve of the UAE’s 50th national day. UAE residents will have the opportunity to view The Emirates Constellation by visiting Dubaiastronomy.com.
Commenting on the campaign, Moadh Bukhash, Chief Marketing Officer at Emirates NBD said, “Inspired by the UAE’s sky-high ambition and many successes, our campaign gifts the people of the UAE ‘The Emirates Constellation’, a special place among the stars for our wonderful nation as it turns 50. Dr Hasan Al Hariri, President, Dubai Astronomy Group added, “We have been very excited to partner with Emirates NBD on this wonderful initiative that symbolically brings together the UAE’s past and its future.
