WITH the onset of Ramadan, prominent malls and food outlets come to life with dedicated menus and special food and kids’ entertainment.
Mercato in Jumeirah is going to embrace Ramadan with traditional Arabic style decorations to set the appropriate mood and ambience combined with charitable activities, children’s workshops, an abaya exhibition and artisan markets.
During the Ramadan mall visitors will enjoy complimentary coffee and dates in Mercato’s relaxing hospitality tent from sunset every day until 10.30pm courtesy of Patchi. In addition, customers can visit Mercato’s charity henna tent which is provided by Anfasic Dokhoon, from 6pm until 10pm daily, where all proceeds will be donated to Noor Dubai.
Mercato will also run a children’s charity donation campaign through card making workshops every Thursday, Friday and Saturday throughout Ramadan. This is an initiative in collaboration with Noor Dubai and all proceeds will fund buying glasses for underprivileged youngsters in Bangladesh. The workshops will involve colouring outlined drawings created by Noor Shamma, an Emirati artist who is Noor Dubai’s Ambassador.
Beside this, the mall will host an Abaya Exhibition by renowned UAE designers starting from 6 June – 13 June and from 17 – 27 June ARTE Market will showcase UAE artisans exhibiting and selling unique handmade items made especially for Ramadan. On 3 and 16 June the mall will also host a Ramadan night market.
Sharing and giving are two important pillars which Ramadan teaches everyone. As the crescent moon will soon emerge with the onset of Ramadan, Genghis Grill, Abu Dhabi’s favourite ‘Build your own Bowl’ pan Asian restaurant chain invites everyone for a hearty Iftar with loved ones this holy month at sundown.
Sugar Factory at Dubai Festival City joins in the celebration of the Holy Month of Ramadan with an appetising array of food for adults and children alike. Peppermill, the colonial Indian dining restaurant, welcomes the Holy Month of Ramadan with a special set menu and buffet menu of culinary discoveries inspired by Ramadan’s true spirit of giving and sharing.
