Italian high-end brands seek 15% rise

HIGH-END Italian jewellery brands exhibitors are expecting around 15 per cent increase in the sales as compare to last year, said Gianpaolo Bruno, Italian Trade Commissioner to the UAE, Oman and Pakistan.
He was talking to The Gulf Today on the sideline of the 4-day Watch & Jewellery Show started at Sharjah Expo Centre on Tuesday.“This show is one of the major platform for the high-level Italian jewellery brands being participating for the last many years and will continue to be here always with the aim of catering the needs of local customers as well as from all over the GCC countries. To get benefit from this show, a large number of customers from different GCC countries visit the show on regular basis,” he said.
Mentioning last two years’ performance, he pointed that the slump in oil prices has slow down the trade but with the current improving situation, we are expecting 10-15 increase in sale at the 4-day exhibition. This year the pavilion has stalls of 28 top Italian jewellery brands in which most of them showcasing highly handmade craftsmanship products.
He mentioned that the demand of high-end jewellery in local market is still strong and the Italian brands known worldwide for their products are offering local and regional customers to enjoy the latest varieties.
However, Antonio Franceschini, head of international market and trade promotion officer told that they are providing maximum facilities to their loyal customers to set up a separate room where women can try different jewellery in the presence of secure environment.
