Pak community celebrates N-Day

SCORES of Pakistani nationals in the UAE have celebrated the country’s 77th National Day (Pakistan Day) with national zeal.
Two major ceremonies were held at the premises of the Embassy of Pakistan, Abu Dhabi and Consulate General in Dubai respectively where the officials read out the messages of the president and prime minister in front of the audience.
In Abu Dhabi, the ceremony was inaugurated with flag hoisting by Ambassador Moazzam Ahmad Khan and playing of the National Anthem. Students from Pakistani schools and members from the Christian community sang national songs. The event was attended by a large number of the Pakistani community based in the capital and Al Ain.
Another ceremony in UAE was held at the Pakistan Consulate in Dubai where the Consul General Syed Javed Hassan led the ceremony.

He said that we were confronted with formidable threats and challenges; however, we have faced all these challenges and measured up to each one with resilience and resolve. In this regard, he specifically mentioned the role of Pakistan’s security forces and the sacrifices they made in riding the country of the menace of terrorism and extremism.
Recalling the historic struggle of the Muslims for independence under the dynamic leadership of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the community was urged to play their role with dedication and commitment to make Pakistan a stronger and prosperous country. He mentioned that Pakistanis residing in the UAE were a valuable asset of the country and that they were making huge contribution in Pakistan’s economy through the remittances.
He paid tributes to the peerless leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah that in a short span of seven years, the dream of separate homeland translated into a reality and the independent sovereign state of Pakistan emerged on the map of the world.
Syed Javed Hassan while addressing the gathering at the consulate said that “the current government led by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has taken many concrete steps to improve overall situation in the country. In the last over three years, the country’s foreign reserve have reached all time high with  $22 billion while billions of dollar are being spending on the construction of China–Pakistan Economic Corridor  (CPEC), a milestone project not only linking all four province with economical benefits but also hugely advantage for whole region once it completed,” he said.
He expressed his gratitude for UAE government to provide friendly environment for 1.3 million Pakistanis being playing vital role in local development and generating substantial remittances for their country. “We are also appreciating the UAE government to carry out various economical projects in Pakistan to benefit local population in the sector of education, road infrastructure and others,” he said.
Earlier highlighting the importance of the day, he said that the Father of the Nation, Quaid-Azad Muhammad Ali Jinnah and his team not get independence from British rule by any agitation but to present their case properly on many fronts as a highly skilled lawyer.
Cake-cutting ceremonies were also held to commemorate the 77th National Day. The ceremonies concluded with the resolve to make Pakistan a progressive, prosperous and peaceful country.
