Doctoral degree recipients urged to make world a better place

IN A simple, but graceful ceremony, 40 students hailing from different countries such as USA, Canada, UAE and Iran, were awarded doctorate degrees.
The students were awarded the degrees by the American Liberty University, (ALU) which is based in California, USA in collaboration with its regional partner Global Learning Centre (GLC) FZC, Ajman. The ceremony was held recently at Jumeirah Beach Hotel.
The successful students were awarded the doctoral degrees in their areas of research.
The ceremony was attended by dignitaries diplomats, management and faculty of GLC, part of Dubai-based Iqra Group of Companies, as well as family and friends of the graduates.
The awarding ceremony was conducted by Sheikha Azza Abdulla Al Nuaimi, Director General, Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi Charity Foundation. Other guests present were the guest of honour, CharithaYattogoda, Consul General, Sri Lanka in Dubai, Rana Sumer Javed, Deputy Consul General, Pakistan Consulate, Dubai, B. T. Shonubi, Minister Consul, Nigerian Consulate, Dubai, Riaz Wahab, Welfare Consul, Pakistan Consulate in Dubai, Dr, Kevin H. Soltani, President American Liberty University, California, USA, Dr. S.M. Tahir, Chairman of Global Learning Centre & Iqra Group and Dr. S. G. Nazre Ather, Director Training and Learning Iqra Group and Dr. Firoz Ahmed, Campus Director Global Learning Centre.
Speaking at the occasion, Sheikha Azza emphasised the importance of education which is the backbone of progress, development and recognition in the currently competitive world.
She also mentioned the contributions made by the great founders of the UAE to the education sector and youth development. She congratulated all the graduates and advised them that “from now onward they will dedicate their lives for the progress and development of the society in which they live.”
Dr Soltani and Dr Tahir also congratulated all the graduates and advised them to avail of their coveted degrees to serve the masses and society at large since “they now have more responsibilities towards humanity and the corporate world.”
Dr Ather, in his closing remarks, spoke about the achievements of the doctorate students and thanked all the dignitaries for taking out time from their precious and busy schedule to grace the auspicious event.
The event was followed by a group photograph and lavish dinner for the dignitaries, graduates and guests.
