‘Dubai a hub of design and innovation’

By Jamil Khan | DUBAI

DUBAI is a hub of design, where residents, Emiratis and expats alike, admire the innovative designs spread across the emirate.
This was stated by Nicholas Papadopoulos, Commercial Director Middle East and Gulf at Ideal Standard Mena in an exclusive interview with The Gulf Today on the sidelines of inaugurating Design Bathroom Centre in Dubai.
“Our brand has an over 100-year history of quality and innovation, which reflects the power of our brand, trust of consumers, consultants and business partners. Our products launched in the Middle East during the 70s. However the new firm, Ideal Standard Mena, was launched three years ago with a head office in Jebel Ali and witnessing double-digit growth,” he said.
The Ideal Standard’s Design Bathroom Centre, the first-of-its-kind in the MENA region is a luxury designed establishment of 1000 sq. meters that showcases the company’s already successful complete bathroom solutions for all building types – DEA, Tonic II, Ventuno, Connect, Strada to name a few – as well as its bathroom mixers, counter tops and vessel basins. The highlight of the event, however, was the revealing of the 2017 launches: Connect Air and Tesi total bathroom solutions, and Ceraflex mixers.
The guest of honour and the absolute best person to introduce Connect Air and Tesi was none other than their creator, Robin Levien. The world-renowned designer mesmerised the crowd, while presenting his designs, his inspiration and the latest global design trends.
Levien is one of Europe’s most consistently successful product designers of the last 25 years.
