Sheikh Ahmed read for Rashid students

AS PART of the activities under the UAE Year of Reading, a group of students with special needs from the Rashid Centre for Disabled has visited Shaikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman and chief executive officer of Emirates airline and group.
The group of welcomed by at his office where in the presence of officials, a brief activity was arranged in which Shaikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum read a passage from his favorite book for Rashid Centre students.

It is mentioned that recently the Rashid Centre with the support of various segments of the society has arranged a reading activity, Reading for Disabled in its premises. A group of writers, poets and other literary personalities had read for children. The guests including writers also read from their own work and also attended a ceremony to highlight the importance of reading and about the initiative.
Maryam Othman, Director General of Rashid Centre for Disabled commented, “The group who visited the Shaikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum in his office showed great enthusiasm to participate in the reading activity. As the recently held reading activity in the Centre has also shed light on the importance of reading and President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan declared the 2016 as UAE Year of Reading,” she said.
The year 2016 declared the year of reading in the UAE to create a generation of book lovers with the engagement of all segments of the society to show their passion of books in their capacity.
