Bhangra sensation to wow Dubai

DUBAI: The OPM franchise is back for an exciting sequel with one of the biggest global acts in the Punjabi music industry, the Punjabi Prince Diljit Dosanjh. The music phenomenon has produced hit after hit and is well known for his vibrant and popular dance tunes. The show will mark his first ever appearance in Dubai on February 11 at one of the most sought after venues for such a conceDiljit-Dosanjhrt, Al Nasr Leisureland.
The multi-talented Punjabi prince has earned his place in the entertainment industry with many noticeable hits, which including his latest song 5 Taara, which received over five million views in less than two weeks, and acting performances in the blockbuster Jatt& Juliet and Jatt& Juliet 2, the first fantasy film in Punjab cinema SardaarJi, and joined A-list Bollywood stars Deepika Padukone, Farhan Akhtar, Alia Bhatt and Siddhart Malhotra by signing on as the Coca-Cola Happiness Ambassador in Punjab.
The first show better known as “Oye Punjabi Sangeet Mela” accelerated record sales with an attended crowd of over 3000 people. The success of the first edition led to a huge demand from the Punjabi community as well as expatriates to organise a second concert.
OPM is looking forward to a packed venue based on the artist’s profile and fan following within the region. The night will offer world-class music and is geared towards becoming one the biggest bhangra performances of the year.
Speaking about performing for the first time in Dubai, Dijlit Dosanjh said “Dubai has hosted some of the biggest international acts, and has become a popular home for all kind of music genres. Finally, Bhangrais is coming to town.”
He further added, “I feel very fortunate performing live for the very first time in Dubai, and being selected to lead OPM, following in the footsteps of one of my biggest idols the legendary GurdasMaan, who had performed here previously. I am looking forward to a great show and meet all my fans from the Indian Sub-Continent.”
