Mohammed attends first Camel Marathon

HUNDREDS of residents and tourists thronged the Dubai International Endurance City in Saih Al Salam to witness the first Camel Marathon in the UAE orIMG_1824ganised by the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Centre (HHC) in co-operation with the Dubai Camel Racing Club.
The 24km marathon — held in conjunction with the UAE’s 44th
National Day celebrations — was contested by 72 Emiratis in the18-50 age group.
The much-awaited event was graced by His Highness Sheikh Moh
ammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
Also in attendance were Abdullah Hamdan Bin Dalmook, HHC CEO, Souad Ibrahim Darwish, Director of Championships at HHC, Ali Saeed Bin Sarud, Director-General of Dubai Camel Racing Club, besides several dignitaries and officials.
