‘Eid is more enjoyable with families’

MUSLIMS in the UAE from different expatriate communities have observed the first day of Eid Al Adha with religious fervour.
Those residing with their families celebrated the Eid in traditional style by meeting friends and relatives and savouring a wide range of spicy Mughlai dishes and colourful desserts.
The UAE is also home for many who are living away from their families as bachelors and the celebrations for them included catching up with friends and occasional picnics.
Talking to The Gulf Today, a group of Pakistani shared their “Eid special” activities.
Saifullah Khan, a resident of Dubai for the last 14 years, told that the Eid Al Adha is incomplete without actually participating in activities like sacrificing animals with siblings and distributing meat in the neighbourhood and relatives. pak-eid day1
“In the Emirates we cannot imagine the spirit of Eid Al Adha which we are used to enjoying in our hometown where everyone is busy in buying, slaughtering and distributing the meat of sacrificial animals with relatives while the whole family, especially young children, enjoys delicious dishes made from it,” he said.
Those who are living in the UAE have nominated their family members back home to perform the sacrifice on their behalf and distribute the meat accordingly.
