Rashid Centre kids to get benefits from Etihad

DUBAI: Rashid Centre for the Disabled has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Etihad Airways to strengthen the relationship between the two entities and provide a number of facilities to children with special needs.
Sheikh Juma Al Maktoum, Acting Chairman of Rashid Centre represented the Rashid Centre, while Hareb Al Muhairy, Vice President UAE Etihad Airways, signed on behalf of Etihad Airways. The ceremony was held at the Centre on Tuesday and was attended by Maryam Othman, director general of the centre and Mohammad Al Hakim, Business Development Manager, Etihad Airways and others.
Through this partnership, the Etihad Airways will extend cooperation and support in a number of services to the centre for the children with the special needs.
The agreement is part of the long-term support from the Etihad Airways to provide and own a number of initiatives to benefit the children and patrons of Rashid Centre. Through this partnership, the students with special needs from the Rashid Centre will be provide free tickets for overseas participation in different events in Mena region and other destinations.
A group of children will also be provided tickets to perform Umrah this year, while during the annual event of the centre’s Stars Auction, free tickets will be provided to 15 artists from the Arab world and Bollywood to take part in the charity event to be held in Dubai in October.
However, the Rashid Centre will provide all support especially, as a strategic sponsor, during the number of events in Dubai International Art Symposium on the 20th anniversary of Rashid Centre to be held in April this year. Other regular annual activities will be attended by the children with the special needs from the Rashid Centre in Dubai as well as abroad.
Hareb Mubarak Al Muhairy, VP Sales UAE-Etihad Airways, after signing the agreement, told the media, “We are delighted to sign this agreement with the Rashid Centre for the Disabled and extend our support in a number of initiatives throughout the year of 2014.
