The other day I was strolling around in my local supermarket to check out what’s new. After spending considerable time, what I found out was enough to open up a new spectrum of thinking.
The presence of such a variety of goods in myriad colours and sizes was quite surprising, as never before had I such an experience. My eyes were glued to the row upon row of beach slippers in every conceivable colour and size, all piled up. However, what was even more extraordinary and had kept my attention riveted to them were the humungous number and manner of brand names.
‘Yahoo,’ ‘Google,’ ‘Wifi,’ ‘Hotspot’ and even ‘Android’ – different slipper ‘brands’ — all made in China vied for the attention of shoppers.
“Don’t be surprised, these are just names, not some smart, electronic gadgets,” chuckled the salesgirl at me.
