Grocery chain supports UAEDSA

DUBAI: The year-long charity drive “Leave the Change to Change their Lives” initiated by HyperPanda – part of Azizia Panda United and one of the most reputed and popular grocery chain in the region – generated over Dhs540,000 for UAE Down’s Syndrome Association (UAEDSA).
In a ceremony held at the festival city, HyperPanda has announced that its support campaign with the UAEDSA has helped in generating Dhs540,000 since September, 2012.Image
As part of the support campaign, HyperPanda had unveiled the “Leave the Change to Change their Lives” initiative, where customers shopping at the hypermarket can donate by choice to support the UAEDSA programmes, thus providing better quality of life to those suffering from down’s syndrome.
UAEDSA is a non-profit organisation that serves people affected by this syndrome.
Muwaffaq M Jamal, CEO, Azizia Panda United, handed over the cheque of Dhs 540,000 to Sonia Al Hashemi, chairperson of UAEDSA, marking the noble campaign a success.
Commenting on the Hyper Panda initiative, Jamal said, “We are committed to the cause of contributing to the community where we operate. The initiative is part of our corporate social responsibility and marks a very important milestone in our journey. We are happy to be working with the UAE Down’s Syndrome Association to support such a worthy pursuit.
“We are grateful to all our shoppers and patrons who have generously contributed to this cause.”
In comments on the support campaign, Sonia Al Hashemi said “We are grateful to HyperPanda and Azizia Panda United Company for their generosity and support. We believe that this support will go a long way in our efforts to provide a better quality of life to those who suffer from down syndrome.”
Down’s Syndrome is a chromosomal disorder caused by the presence of all or part of an extra chromosome.
The UAE Down Syndrome Association is a group which supports children and their parents and caregivers with the aim to provide a better quality of life as also offer them an opportunity to play their unique role in society.
This year the campaign has entered it’s fourth year to support the cause of people suffering from the down syndrome.
