ITL Group marks 60 years of successful operations in Dubai

DUBAI: ITL Group has recently marked its 60th anniversary of operations in the UAE. The chief guest at the dinner was Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Culture, Youth & Community Development while partners and staff of ITL Group were present on the occasion held at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Dubai.
At the ceremony ITL Group presented a strong showcase of its growth journey from a textile and trading company to an international business conglomerate with interests in consumer appliances, information technology, financial services, manufacturing and related services.
Dr Ram Buxani, President of ITL Group in his welcome note said that looking back on the six golden decades of our company, we feel an abounding sense of gratitude to the visionary leaders of this glorious nation and city, for their encouragement and support to not just us, but the entire business community.
“Our growth would not have been possible without our esteemed partners, for their inbuilt trust in us and our competencies. As pioneers in forging trade links with markets such as Japan for electronic appliances to distribute in the Middle East, our biggest asset then was a deep-rooted confidence in our ability. We are honoured that our partners recognised the can-do spirit in us, and stood by us,” he added.
The ceremony was also attended by UAE Minister of State Abdullah Bin Mohammed Ghobash and other dignitaries- Easa Saleh Al Gurg, Major Ibrahim Abdullah Murad, Ahmed Mohamed Dhaen, Ismail Akil Abbasi, Dr.Mohamed Hamdan Abdulla Al Shamsi, Ahmed Al Midfa, Abdul Razak Abdulaziz Al Muttawa, Jasim Mohd Hamad Al Midfa, Laila Mohammed Suhail, Masour Al Sharaf, Mohd Sharif Hadi Hassan and top businessmen.
He also acknowledged the presence of Hiroshi Sasaoka, Executive Officer and Chairman of Sharp Electronics, Europe, Middle East and. Saluting the contribution of ITL Group employees, he said “The true heroes in this success saga are our employees, who devoted their heart and mind to the organisation, working with unwavering dedication and commitment. We can proudly say that we have some of the longest-serving employees in any organisation and possibly the lowest turnover rate, simply because we have always valued the contribution that our team members make.”
At the ceremony, Murij Manghnani Group Chairman of ITL Cosmos received a memento of honor from Sheikh Nahyan for his 60 years contribution. He also honored 51 employees who have been working with the company for more than 10 years with gold medals.
Addressing the gathering, Sheikh Nahyan said that “the development of ITL Cosmos mirrors closely that of the city of Dubai itself. Together we have witnessed the development of Dubai from a small beginning to its present status as one of the most modern and vibrant cities in the world. Your corporation have made significant contributions to the economic strength and well-being of Dubai and the United Arab Emirates. Your phenomenal progress over the years reflects our own national commitment to advance energetically into the future according to plans on knowledge, innovation, careful analysis and sensitive moral reckoning,” he added.
Murij Manghnani, Group Chairman, said: “today is a milestone in the history of ITL Group, and this success owes to the vision and leadership of Dubai. The government of Dubai provided a strong growth environment for businesses to prosper. We are thankful to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, for the visionary guidance, which has established Dubai as a global city.
