DUBAI: A large number of party workers and well wishers of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in Dubai celebrated the 25th birthday of their chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and vowed to bring the party in limelight again under his leadership in Pakistan and the rest of the world.
The birthday bash was held at the Dastarkhwan Restaurant in Dubai and attended by the local leadership along with those who travelled from Pakistan including Mahwish Sheikh and Raja Amir Khan from the Punjab province.
Sheikh, secretary of information in Punjab, said that the UAE has a huge number of supporters of PPP who showed their affection towards the former leader Benazir Bhutto when she was staying here for a long time.
“Today we are celebrating the 25th birthday of our party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari who has as vast a vision as his mother (Benazir Bhutto) and grandfather (Zulfikar Ali Bhutto). We are sure that soon the party, under the leadership of young Bilawal, will bring the youth on its platform not only in Punjab but also from abroad where we have a huge following,” she added.
She said that the collaboration of youth and women in the UAE will be able to mobilise the party once again and make it as active as it was in the past.
Amir Khan shared his recent meeting with the party chairman in Dubai and assured the audience that good times for the party are not far away.
“Bilawal Bhutto, who just turned 25 and is now eligible to contest election in Pakistan, will bring the party back to its prime position as he has the vision as well as the wisdom to lead. We are sure that the PPP will emerge much stronger in the next elections and will claim the power to resolve the lingering issues facing by the masses,” he said.
He also pointed that the current government led by Nawaz Sharif has yet to bring any positive change in the country during his 4-month duration and there is no hope for next four years. “We have been assured that our leadership has a clear stance on extending full support to the democratic government to complete its 5-year tenure,” he said.
