ImageDUBAI: The 10th day of the Ramadan Night Market, which started on Aug.1 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, witnessed a huge turnout on Saturday from all segments of the society.
The main attraction for the visitors was the sale promotion of a huge list of items under one roof. Alongside the sale were entertainment options for children and a food court filled with delicacies for everyone.
But for many visitors, especially those who had some interest in drawing, the major attraction was the art competition titled “Anyone Can Draw”.
The competition was organised for the age group of 6 to 60 by the Cosmos ITL Group at their stall.
People from all walks of life participated in this competition for the past ten days.
The organisers had received around 360 drawings on all themes. The raw materials like drawing papers and acrylic colours were provided by the organisers.
Late Saturday evening, the officials announced the top 12 drawings and rewarded them awards with an LED television and appreciation certificate in a ceremony attended by a huge number of visitors.
Explaining the CSR initiatives of the company, Dr Ram Buxani, president of the ITL Group, said, “Cosmos ITL Group is committed to strengthen its CSR and to be a partner in the social welfare initiatives undertaken by the government. From adopting sustainable practices  supporting the ‘green vision’ of Dubai to supporting the society in building local talent — in arts, sports and culture, the Group has always been committed to uphold the values that Dubai holds. We remain committed to our CSR initiatives that make a difference to the community.”
Pawan Khetwani, sales manager of Sharp Middle East while addressing the gathering at the ceremony, said, “Sharp is always working on realising its CSR activities and its participation in the Ramadan Night Market was an extension of our engagement with the local community. We believe our products and services can help and contribute towards a modern luxurious lifestyle for customers regionally and globally. The art competition received a huge response as we honoured 12 best drawings while all of artworks will be displayed at the venue throughout the Eid holidays for visitors,” he added.
