DUBAI: A large number of well-wishers and workers of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) gathered in Dubai on Friday to celebrate the 60th birthday of former prime minister and PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto. Image
The programme was attended by the slain ex-premier’s son Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, co-chairman of PPP, elder daughter Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari, and senior party workers, including Owais Muzaffar, Muzzafar Ali Shajra, besides many others who flew in from different parts of Pakistan.
The visiting workers joined their counterparts in the UAE in showing solidarity with the family members of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, offering fateha (prayers) and reciting the Holy Quran.

Later in the presence of the party workers, Bilawal and Bakhtawar cut a huge cake and addressed the occasion which commemorated the 60th birthday of the leader who was killed on Dec.27, 2007 in Rawalpindi when she was returning from a party procession.
Asif Ali Zardari, President of Pakistan and husband of Benazir Bhutto, and young daughter Assefa Bhutto Zardari, visited Benazir’s mausoleum located in Garhi Khuda Baksh, Sindh province.
They laid floral wreaths and bouquets, offered Fateha and also recited verses from the Holy Quran.
In 1993, Benazir Bhutto, who was respectfully referred to as ‘B.B.,’ was re-elected for a second term after that year’s parliamentary elections.
