Dubai: Nawaz Sharif should once again ask overseas Pakistanis to raise funds to support the already weakening economy in the country as there is no need to ask the IMF (International Monetary Fund) for a loan. We overseas Pakistanis can generate $8-10 billion without any foreign support.
This was announced by Chaudhry Mohammad Altaf, President PML-N UAE while addressing a huge gathering of supporters of Nawaz Sharif and his party, Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N), at Deira Sheraton Hotel in Dubai late on Monday.
The event was held to celebrate the victory of Nawaz Sharif and his party PML-N in the general elections held last week.
A large number of people from different walks of life gathered and shared sweets. Many young supporters showed their enthusiasm while dancing to the beat of drums and traditional tunes played throughout the evening.
“There are a large number of overseas Pakistanis who have enough financial resources to support the country at this critical time and Nawaz Sharif should approach not the IMF but the overseas Pakistanis who will not leave any stone unturned for the betterment of Pakistan,” he added.
He also pointed that now the PML-N and the team have more responsibilities on their shoulders to deliver.
“To support the new government, our skilled work force spread all over the world should assist the country as it is the need of the hour to use their full abilities for its betterment,” he suggested.
Chaudhry Noor-ul-Hassan Tanvir, President PML-N Gulf, congratulated all the supporters and said that they were waiting for the reelection of Sharif for 14 years.
“This is the golden moment that we have been waiting for a long time: when Nawaz Sharif spoke to his supporters from the balcony of the newly constructed PML-N Secretariat in Raiwand, Punjab which was constructed by the PML-N supporters of Gulf region,” he said.
Tanvir pointed out that they would use all their resources to further strengthen the bilateral relations between Pakistan and all the Gulf countries, as well as all the Islamic countries around the world.
He further said that they are fully supporting the people’s mandate given to other parties and suggested that Imran Khan and his party PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf) serve people in Khyber Pukhtunkhwa as a public servant and come back after 5 years to run for the seat of prime minister.
Chaudhry Shafee, another leader, condemned the recent statement of MQM head Altaf Hussain and demanded that the government of Pakistan consider his statement as treason.
