Musharraf Announces Date To Return Pakistan

Ex-president Musharraf to return Pakistan on March 24

DUBAI: The supporters including party workers of former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf and his political party All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) are started pouring in Dubai to accompanied him on his return flight back home to finish his over 5-year self-exile and face the court.
He announced his return schedule in a press conference held in Dubai and attended by a large number of local and international media.
Khurrum Harris, Media Coordinator of APML in Dubai while talking to The Gulf Today on Wednesday said “The preparations are in full swing and as the former president announced in his March 1 press conference in Dubai to return Pakistan within the first week of caretaker government assuming office which is most likely to happen on March 17. The former president along with his part workers will fly from Dubai on March 24 as invitations to foreign media as well as Pakistani media has been sent to joint Pervez Musharraf on his return flight to Pakistan on March 24 from Dubai to Karachi,” said
He further said that the party workers and well wishers of Pervez Musharraf has been asked to joint their leader from Dubai as so far around 250 seats have been confirmed. “The majority of the workers are coming from USA, Canada and Europe as many has already started to reach in Dubai to avoid any chance to miss the flight with their leader,” he said.
He poinyed that that the return of former president Pervez Musharraf links to the ‘assuming’ office by the caretaker government on March 17 after the 5-year tenure complete by the present PPP-led government. “As soon as he (Pervez Musharraf) landed in the country, he himself go to the court and will face the charges against him as he is convince that all such charges against him are baseless,” he said.
“The workers and international media will joint the Pervez Musharraf on board of a commercial flight from Dubai to Karachi on March 24,” he said.
However, many UAE-based party leaders have assured that a huge number of crowds will welcome the former president on his arrival after 5-years. “Workers on grassroots level in the country have been mobilizing the masses to welcome their leader and on the day of his return a huge gathering of citizens will surprise everyone,” one of the official said.
Farzana Mansoor, head of women wing in the UAE told The Gulf Today that a large number of women workers are also ready to accompany their leader and the participation from the women wing will strengthen the party position in the upcoming election to be held in the country in the next 60-days.
