Police arrest 15-year-old for raping minor girl

THE North Nazimabad Police has finally arrested a 15-year old rapist, Babar alias Naeem, who had raped a minor girl and was at large for 24-hours.

North Nazimabad Police Station Investigation Office Qudratullah Sheikh told Daily Times on Friday, that a police party led by ASI Irhad arrested Babar, son of Amir Bukhsh, close to his house located at Chandni Chowk, Paposhnagar late in the evening. He added that the police are investigating the case.

It is pertinent to mention here that Babar raped eight-year-old T, daughter of I a native of Muzzafargarh living in a rented house near Chandni Chowk, Paposhnagar, North Nazimabad.

On Thursday, T was on her way to recite ‘suparah’ at her maternal aunt’s house located a few streets away from her house. When she reached her aunt’s house, it was locked, so T turned around to go back home. On her way back, Babar was standing in a deserted street, he forcibly picked T and took her to his house.

Babar threw T from the second floor after raping her. Neighbours took the traumatised girl to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. However, she could not be examined by the lady MLO till around 2:00 am.

The officials revealed that the lady MLO was on leave due to some personal engagement. When she examined T, she confirmed that she was raped. The officials at Paposhnagar Police Picket lodged an FIR No 17/09 and the case was handed over to the investigation cell.

SIO Sheikh confirmed that the police successfully nabbed the culprit after an entire day’s search.

Two shot dead in separate incidents: Two unknown robbers killed Khurram, 17, son of Muhammad Azam in a foiled mobile phone snatching attempt at Bihar Colony, Lyari.

The police revealed that two robbers were roaming in the area at around 11:00 am, looking for potential targets. They approached Khurram who was on his way to the market and tried to snatch his mobile phone. Khurram resisted, upon which, they shot and killed him.

In a separate incident, within the jurisdiction of Gulshan-e-Maymar Police Station, unknown gunmen killed 40-year old Sarwar, son of Haji Noor Khan, near his house in Gulshan-e-Maymar on Friday. The police are investigating the incident and have yet to discover the motive behind the crime.

Two die in separate road accidents: An unknown vehicle near the UP Morr killed a 60-year-old jaywalker early morning on Friday. According to a Chippa spokesperson, the victim identified as Ayub was crossing the road when a speeding vehicle hit him. His body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for a post-mortem.

Six-year-old Sumera, daughter of Azam, died while six other children were injured in a massive collision between a car and a school van that occurred near the Abdullah Shah Ghazi roundabout on Friday. The police arrested the van driver and seized his vehicle. The police revealed that the accident occurred on Khayaban-e-Ghazi near Abdullah Shah Ghazi Mazar in the morning. The injured children included Saira, Mahnoor, Rehan, Bilal, Shah Rukh and Uroba who have been shifted to the DHA hospital.

Body of baby found: Kalri Police Station was informed about the body of a newborn baby near the Crown Cinema. The police handed over the body to Chippa officials who performed the final rituals and buried it at the Mewashah Graveyard.
